Devastating.
when i first heard about the storm i thought everyone was over reacting especially my mom. she made us stack up on food water gas and everything else you could possibly think of. she made us charge our electronics before the storm she was preparing for something big.
after the storm hit my neighborhood wasn't effected at all, everything looked normal however when i turned on the news i saw all the effects of the storm. words cant describe how bad i feel for the victims and all we can do now is pray and help out by donating clothes and food and helping out people that need it. people lost there homes and some even there lives.
i guess it was better to over react then under react.
i think we should all help out because it could of easily been any of us in that situation. my own aunt that lives in long island had to come all the way to corona to charge there electronics and take showers.
i never realized how valuable public transportation is, without either its almost impossible to travel between the five boroughs.
the gas i think has hit me the most my dad needs gas in order to work and its close to impossible to get gas at the moment.
if i was in that situation where i got badly effected i believe the best way people could help me is by showing that there for me and giving me necessitates.
im just grateful no one in my family got badly effected, that i have running water, heat, electricity, food, my parents still have jobs and that everyone i know is safe and sound. things will slowly get back to normal.
